Still seeking Labor Submissions

13 May

Hi, all:

As you hug your moms today, remember that their labor stories (either birth-related or work-related) are fair ground for this week’s Syllable Series!

We have five glorious readers so far, but we’d like to double that number for a true celebration of the diversity of our working lives. Won’t you please submit a poem, essay, story, song, sketch, or otherwise creative divergence for our listening pleasure?

Reading is on Wednesday, May 16th at 7 pm at La Paloma.

Email your intent to submit (or, ideally, your actually submission) to syllableseries@gmail.com today (Sunday 5/13) or tomorrow (Monday 5/14) to get on our roster.

Happy mother’s day!

Hey Julia, I have a short piece on school as a prison. It’s not that funny, but it’s pretty true based on my expereinces as a prison-warden, aka teacher. 🙂 Anyway, I have to dig it out, but if there’s space I’d like to read it.
